Technical Details

The TeamCAMS Operator Interface is a fully web-based application built using WebAssembly (WASM) technology. The client is compiled from the same C++ and QML codebase used throughout the TeamCAMS platform, allowing it to deliver a rich and responsive user experience directly within a standard web browser.

All interface logic runs locally inside the participant's browser. No software installation is required, and participants can access the simulation simply by opening the connection link provided by the researcher. During a session, the Operator Interface communicates with the TeamCAMS Manager through the MQTT communication layer, exchanging commands, state updates, messages, and experimental events in real time.

The web application itself is served by the TeamCAMS infrastructure and therefore does not need to be separately hosted by the researcher. In a typical deployment, participants can immediately connect to an experiment using the generated URL or QR code without any additional configuration. However, researchers remain free to deploy and host the Operator Interface on their own infrastructure when necessary. This may be useful, for example, in environments where participant devices operate on networks without Internet access, or when institutional policies require all components of the system to remain within a private network.
